Leadership Development
Cohort-based training in communication, presence, self-awareness, and community leadership.
About
Lead U Institute is a student leadership development program under the 501(c)(3) JLB Scholarship Fund, Inc., serving high school juniors, seniors, and college students.
Through leadership development, entrepreneurship, arts, and design, we equip students with the skills, courage, and real-world connections needed to successfully transition from college to career — and to become impactful leaders in their communities.
Our summer institute runs in partnership with Camp College, Tidewater Community College, and Regent University, and culminates in Fearless 1X, our end-of-summer student showcase.

Every LEAD U experience — camp, workshop, summer institute, or college cohort — is built on these four pillars.
Cohort-based training in communication, presence, self-awareness, and community leadership.
Students turn ideas into ventures with mentors, micro-grants, and live pitch experiences.
Real client work and internships in branding, film, photography, and social storytelling.
Direct pathways to internships, scholarships, campus partners, and career readiness.

Curriculum
Our curriculum is a practical, student-tested leadership model delivered two ways — as a printed workbook facilitators use in camps and classrooms, and as a self-paced online course students complete between sessions. Each module pairs a short lesson with reflection prompts, a team activity, and a real-world challenge students bring back to their school or community.
